MEMPHIS LIVE MUSIC SCENE
Art has been active on the local Memphis music scenic since the pandemic halted touring schedules.
You can catch him performing in different configurations six days a week at Itta Bena on Beale Street, Moon Dance Grill in Germantown and Lafayette's Music Room in Overton Square.
Each night offers a collaboration with a different duo partner creating a unique experience for the listener. Susan Marshall, Austin Carroll, Nat Kerr and Gerald Stephens make up the usual cast of players performing with Art at Itta Bena and Moon Dance Grill. The Joe Restivo 4 featuring Art on tenor saxophone has been playing the jazz brunch at Lafayette's Music Room every Sunday since 2014. Be sure to catch this tight unit as they continue to develop and explore the standard jazz repertoire and original compositions.
Night Club work has been slowly returning to Memphis and now you can hear Art playing with Marcella & Her Lovers, Mark Edgar Stuart, The Love Light Orchestra, Steve Selvidge Band, Loveland/Duren as well as John Paul Keith and the Rhythm of the City in various venues throughout Memphis. Railgarten, Bar DKDC, the Green Room at Crosstown Concourse and the Grove at GPAC have all recently hosted projects involving Art's saxophone and vocal talents.
